Time for a tough conversation
This website serves as a place for us to have an unfiltered conversation about the horrors we're subjecting our children to in America. No need to say "grape" instead of rape or "PDF file" instead of pedophile. Here, there are no algorithms to suppress our truth in an attempt to silence us. This is a safe space for all survivors of childhood trauma, along with our friends and loved ones brave enough to support us.
Community Guidelines
No victim shaming
Specifically calling this out since it happens so often. It's the biggest reason I've stayed silent for so long. We should never feel ashamed to speak our truth.
Be kind and respectful
Seems like a no-brainer, but we're here to build a community, not tear each other down.
Be offended
Much of what I post will include explicit content. If you're not offended by the themes, you're probably on the wrong side of the fight and not welcome here.
No pity parties
We're here to stand tall while healing. Not wallow in self pity.
Be patient with yourself
Healing takes time. If the conversation gets too heavy, it's ok to take a break. We'll still be here when you're ready.
Be patient with me
I have no idea what I'm doing and this is terrifying. Sure I can build and manage a website, but creating the content is different. I have 45 years worth of trauma to unpack. My goal is to post a chapter of my story each week but if that doesn't happen, refer to the guideline above.
Be patient with others
One of the goals of this project is to enlighten and educate people who've never experienced trauma. I suspect they'll feel some kind of way about what they learn. As long as the conversation stays respectful, let's help guide them to understanding rather than ostracize because they're unable to relate.
